Our Story...

Meet the Creative Director...

Poppyseeds home was born in 2016 through my love of all things crafty! I am a busy mum of three teenagers and we have an energetic cockapoo called Jessie. I can be found most summers on windswept beaches collecting driftwood, shells and stuff to upcycle! I have three things on my bucket list...and that is to have my very own beach hut and to own a rustic barn where I can run a vintage tea room alongside my craft workshops! Watch this space!

I have loved crafting ever since I was able to use a pair of scissors and my childhood days were filled with glitter, crepe  paper and split pins!

I am a qualified Interior Designer and Florist Stylist and have previously worked as a Visual Merchandising Project Manager for a large well known high street retailer. Following the birth of my children, I have retrained and for the last nine years I have been teaching  in the Early Years Foundation Stage in a local  primary school.  It is a very busy and creative life.

In  this ever changing world we live in, our imagination and creativity is in danger of being lost or under developed.  I passionately believe all children through to adulthood should be given the opportunity, time and space to explore their creative side. I passionately believe that we are all artists in some shape or form and by having the right tools and right environment, we can all create amazing works of art through investigating and exploring

Whats the story behind the name?

Well... Poppyseeds was my childhood nickname! After I had left home to further my career in the corporate world, I would receive letters from home. Yes they were paper letters, no email, facetime or text messages in those days! My parents would write Poppyseeds home on the letter head instead of their address, so my business name was born even before my business was.

Relax, Unwind, Create...

Here at  Poppyseeds home, I design and hand make gifts for your home and garden, and sell my products through craft fairs and exhibitions. Since Autumn 2018, I have been sharing my knowledge and skills by running workshops from my newly built garden studio in Hertfordshire. My aim is to build a community of crafters by offering a warm welcoming home from home studio to enable children and adults to learn, explore, create and to have fun!

The team and I look forward to meeting you soon.
