Block Printing...
Create your own textiles
Come and explore the wonderful world of printing.
Using a selection of wooden printing blocks which have been designed in the UK and handcrafted in India, you can print your very own collection of textiles!
You will learn how to mix colours to create tonal balance alongside different printing techniques such as, using a repeating pattern, random printing, story building printing and straight line printing. Following a full demonstration of the different printing techniques, you will have lots of opportunity to play around with the blocks and colours on practise fabric and card. You will be able to see which colour combinations and patterns work best for you. Towards the end of the workshop, we will show you how you can use all your practise fabric pieces to create even more beautiful gifts.
Once you have decided on your final design and colours, you can then go onto printing on to fabric blanks. We have a wide selection; cotton tea towels, cotton napkins, poly/cotton aprons, calico cushion covers, large canvas shopping/beach bag, canvas bag with leather straps, cotton tote bags, lampshades, fabric baguette bags and food bags to stationary.
Block printing is for everyone! No previous experience or creative flair required! Just your enthusiasm and your willingness to learn is all that's needed to enjoy this amazing craft.
