Workshops...
Our workshops take place in our studio located on the edge of the village of Kensworth. We are a 15 minute drive from our previous home in Harpenden.
Our beautiful studio is situated in a private garden under a canopy of trees. We have an array of tools and resources, and we teach a variety of craft skills and techniques.
We run a mixture of unaccompanied child classes, adult classes and family sessions.
Why book with us?
Workshops are run by experienced tutors who currently teach in local primary schools. We all have skills and talents we would love to share with you. Our tutors hold a DBS and are first aid trained.
Here at Poppyseeds home we celebrate differences and encourage everyone's own imagination and creativity. We give our crafters the tools, teach the skills and time to explore and create at their own pace.
Christmas Wreath Making
Join us in the studio on one of our popular wreath making workshops.
All materials, tuition and complimentary hot drinks and mince pies included in the price.
We use a selection of seasonal foliage to create the structure on a foam base, then decorate with natural elements such as seed heads, pine cones, orange and lime slices, cinnamon sticks, and pheasant feathers; why not finish off with a decorative bow and a sparkle of bling or leave natural, the choice is yours.

This is an adult workshop, no children under 18 years are permitted.
We allow 2.5 hours for making; however, you may be finished sooner.

Christmas Block Printing...
Come and join us as you discover the art of block printing. This is wonderful craft to fuel your design and creativity and is suitable for beginners of all ages. You will learn how to print with hand carved blocks made by artisans in India, with plenty of time to perfect your design skills on to practise fabric first. We have a vast range of contemporary Christmas designs and paint colours to choose from. Choose to print either a Christmas sack of stocking.

Join us is in half term to create a button art picture. Draw your own picture or choose from a selection of templates. Select your chosen coloured buttons, and arrange on a fabric board to build your picture.
Parent/carer must accompany the child crafter.

Join us is in half term to engage in this lovely craft of printing. Using wooden blocks and fabric paint, print a drawstring backpack or tote bag.

Children's Autumn Workshops...
Trick or Treat Bag
Get ready for Halloween... Come and decorate your very own trick or treat tote bag. You will learn the art of stencilling and block printing onto fabric by exploring with different colours, stencils and printing blocks. After perfecting your skills on practise fabric, you will then go on to print your final design onto your bag. You will be using Halloween fabric paint colours alongside a special glow in the dark paint!
This is an unaccompanied child only workshop.

Block Printing A Fabric Advent Calendar
This workshop will keep you busy from the moment you pick up the first printing block! and lots of time to practise and master the technique, before going on to print. Each bag is already numbered, all that's left to do...is have fun block printing them! This is such a lovely workshop to do and can be re-used each year... once home just add your own special treats into the each bag!
Cost includes, tuition, practise fabric, paint, 24 fabric bags and string with small pegs.
Parental/carer supervision is required within this session if children are attending.

Spring Workshops...
Living Wreath workshop
Join us in the studio and connect to nature with this immersive workshop. Using sustainably sourced natural moss, you will wire a rattan wreath ring, then select a range of spring flowering bulbs to wire into your wreath. With a variety of spring decorations to choose from, such as; toadstools, birds, plant pots, feathers, birds nests and eggs, design and decorate your unique living wreath . Sprayed regularly, your living wreath with continue to grow and flower throughout the season.
