Workshops...
Our workshops take place in our studio located on the edge of the village of Kensworth. We are a 15 minute drive from our previous home in Harpenden.
Our beautiful studio is situated in a private garden under a canopy of trees. We have an array of tools and resources, and we teach a variety of craft skills and techniques.
We run a mixture of unaccompanied child classes, adult classes and family sessions.
Why book with us?
Workshops are run by experienced tutors who currently teach in local primary schools. We all have skills and talents we would love to share with you. Our tutors hold a DBS and are first aid trained.
Here at Poppyseeds home we celebrate differences and encourage everyone's own imagination and creativity. We give our crafters the tools, teach the skills and time to explore and create at their own pace.
Christmas Wreath Making
Join us in the studio on one of our popular wreath making workshops.
All materials, tuition and complimentary hot drinks and mince pies included in the price.
We use a selection of foliage to create the structure on a foam base, then decorate with natural elements such as seed heads, pine cones, orange and lime slices, cinnamon sticks, peacock and pheasant feathers; why not finish off with a decorative bow and a sparkle of bling or leave natural, the choice is yours.

Block Printing A Fabric Advent Calendar
This workshop will keep you busy from the moment you pick up the first printing block! and lots of time to practise and master the technique, before going on to print. Each bag is already numbered, all that's left to do...is have fun block printing them! This is such a lovely workshop to do and can be re-used each year... once home just add your own special treats into the each bag!
Cost includes, tuition, practise fabric, paint, 24 fabric bags and string with small pegs.
Parental/carer supervision is required within this session if children are attending.

You will learn the art of block printing and spend time perfecting your new skills on practise fabric; then print two cotton tea towels or cotton apron.

This is a lovely mini garden making workshop.
First paint your ceramic lighthouse and large rock. Next, using a variety of resources such as driftwood, rocks, shells and fences, design and sculpture your very own seascape. finish off with a string of bunting, designed and painted by you.

Magical Unicorn Garden

Design and make your very own magical garden.
Using an array of mediums,
first paint your papier mache unicorn, next paint your clay rainbow and add cotton wool clouds. Paint your wooden toadstools, then using a variety of resources have fun creating a magical land. Included a real miniature plant. (plants may vary from the photo)

Children's Workshops...
Trick or Treat Bag
Get ready for Halloween... Come and decorate your very own trick or treat tote bag. You will learn the art of stencilling and block printing onto fabric by exploring with different colours, stencils and printing blocks. After perfecting your skills on practise fabric, you will then go on to print your final design onto your bag. You will be using Halloween fabric paint colours alongside a special glow in the dark paint!
This is an unaccompanied child only workshop.
